“Election Year 2010!”
We encourage you to frequently check our website for constantly updating information for candidates, events, and news that will be shaping your daily lives. Because the site is “dynamic”, and constantly changing, please check back often and forward any suggestions, ideas or points of interest that you might have to the chairman@pueblo gop.org . All will be considered.
But even as we celebrate the New Year and our new website, there is a cause for concern. Charles Dickens in his book “A Tale of Two Cities”, wrote the famous lines, “It was the best of times and the worst of times”! In some way, it could be used to describe America today. In the past months, we have witnessed one of the most egregious assaults on the core elements of America that has ever been witnessed. The America that survived two World Wars and grew to be the greatest bastion of freedom and individualism has come under attack from within. The ugly, failed policy of Socialism is being flaunted daily under the guise of new and euphemistic changes to our society. Faulted idealistic government programs have been enacted and debt has been piled upon debt. It does indeed seem to be the “worst of times”.
However, all is not lost. If one looks closely, if one listens to the undercurrent of emotion in Middle America, there is emerging a swell of desire to stop the destruction of the America of our fathers. Like the “minutemen” of Lexington and Concord, people are starting to answer the call, to correct the wrongs that are being done to the American way of life. The “change” that has been thrust upon the average American must be stopped. The first of many great political battles needed to take back America, will be the Election of 2010. For us to save America, each of you must take up some part of this cause. You must help the party, help a candidate, rally your friends and neighbors, “become involved!” Then, when the worst of times have become the best of times, you can look back with pride at the efforts you made in the “Election Year of 2010!” You are the answer. You must join the cause. You can make a difference.
For now, the PCRP wishes you a “Happy New and Prosperous Year.”
I want to repeat some important dates. First, the 2010 Caucus will be held on March 16th. The Pueblo County Assembly will be held on March 27th. The Colorado State Assembly will be held on May 21st & 22nd. Check our "Events Calendar" for more detailed information!
But what may be the most important date for the PCRP is February 20th. That is the date of the PCRP Lincoln Day Dinner. We are privileged to have as our keynote speaker (drum roll please) none other the former White House Press Secretary and current FOX News analyst, Dana Perino. Mark the date - Be There! And remember "ITS ON!"

Vera Ortegon will be formally announcing her candidacy for the Colorado State 3rd Senate District on January 27, 2010. This event will take place at 12:00 noon at the Pueblo Convention Center located at 320 Central Main Street. Those who wish to support Vera during this announcement should make plans to attend.
